November Happenings Catch up

So after Izzy's birthday Nate and I both got food poisoning or that crappy flu bug. Either way we were so sick for 48 hours. Then after that Izzy got sick and started teething the next week by running a 101 fever for 5 days. Then Thanksgiving day I started getting really sick again and thought that it was pregnancy symptoms but after two days of extreme sickness I realized that I had caught something again. BOO!! So the whole month of November we were a sick house and I didn't document much. I took a couple of pictures Thanksgiving of Izzy but that was about it. So needless to say the month of November was a blur.

Thanksgiving this year was spent with the Durbano's. It was really yummy.

We are finally home and I am feeling refreshed from our lovely vacation. I am well into the second trimester of this pregnancy and feeling tons better. I am ready to catch you all up on the end of the year and the beginning of the new year!

Yep baby number two is well on its way and we couldn't be more excited!

Estimated time of arrival is July 17th.

This cute little girl keeps mommy pretty busy, and is learning new things on a daily basis. I love her to pieces.

We have lots to catch up on here so keep an eye out. Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday season!

Izabella's 1st Birthday Celebrations Part 3

I was really excited for Izabella's birthday. I started planning on what treats to make, and oh man there were so many that I wanted to try. I decided to stick to fall flavors so I made some really yummy caramel apple cupcakes, caramel apples, and chocolate cupcakes. For Izzy's cake I did a pumpkin cake.

We did a really low key party since it was her first birthday and we wanted her to enjoy her friends and family so we just socialized for the first part and watched all of the kids play and enjoy the balloons.

After a little while we let Izzy open her presents, and I was so surprised to she her immediately pull at the tissue paper, and tare at the wrapping paper. She was on a roll. She got lots of goods, and we are so thankful for all of the love and support.

It was then time for the CAKE!! We lite the candle and sang happy birthday pulled the cake closer and she reached out and before Nate could stop her she reached out and tried to touch the candle. Needless to say it went all down hill. After I got her calmed down she was afraid that the cake was going to hurt her. So we decided to add some gold fish crackers to entice her into digging into the cake. I had it built up that she was going to tare right into it, but she would take a gold fish out and lick it. It finally ended with the cake on the floor, and Izzy dumping it on the ground and started to try and step in it. Silly girl.

Izabella's 1st Birthday Celebrations Part 2

On her actually birthday we did a little celebrating that night with my sister and her little girls and Mimi. We figured she should open a few presents. It was so much fun to see the girls with Izzy, and Izzy fight her way in between them to play. They love each other so much.

My sister gave her this bee book that buzzes at the very end because Izzy would always play with it at her house. Along with this sesame street cell phone.

Here she is with the Kitchen that Mimi got her. All of the girls loved it especially Lila.

Nate and I got Izzy these pop up tents with tunnels that connect the. We figured that she would love it since she is a climber and loves to explore. Total Success!! She loved it!

Izabella's 1st Birthday Celebrations Part 1

Wow I cannot believe that I have a one year old! She had grown up so fast and has become such a huge part of our life's. We started out the celebrations by going to the Hogal Zoo with Glammy, Aunt Natalie, and Avery. It was a lot of fun to watch the girls together.

I have to say that the monkeys were the biggest hit with the girls. I think Izzy was taking notes on things to try later when she got home. She is my little monkey!

When we went into the Gorilla exhibit the large silver back walked right up to the window that we were standing at checked us out then decided to sit down and tear at a box right there. Izzy was captivated by the extra large animal!

We did the carousel since it was such a huge hit last time we went to the zoo.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

This year I wanted to start some family traditions, and I came across Black Island Farms. I was really intrigued by what they had to offer. Never having been there I didn't know what to expect. Well I can tell you that we will be doing this every year! It was so much fun. I didn't know if Izzy would like it or if it could hold the attention span of an almost one year old, but oh how it did. She had so much fun and so did Nate and I. I think the best part was watching her excitement at all the new experiences. It is something we will cherish.

This year we invited our friends Dax, Marina, and Massimo to join in the fun. I am so glad that we did it was fun to watch Izzy and Mo together. (They are a little over two weeks apart).

We started out doing the hayride out to the pumpkin patch where we all got to pick our very own pumpkins and have them cut right of the vines. Izzy loved the ride out to the pumpkin patch. She stood on Nates lap and would squeal with excitement. I wish I had the video camera, but I caught some good shots of her.

After getting back and taking our pumpkins to the car we decided to go check out the other activities that they had.

We ended up going down Animal Alley first. It had to have been Izzy's favorite part. She loves animals!

At the very end of the alley they had these two lamas, and Izzy though it was the greatest thing. She would squeal and try to grab there faces. She even tried to give one of them kisses. (mind you she is stingy on her kisses) We put a little popcorn in her had to feed the lama and she thought it was great. I don't think the lama liked it because Izzy was a tease she wouldn't open her hand to give it to him so finally I had to pull her fingers open to help the lama.

There was also these really great billy goats. They would stick their faces through the fence to try and get closer. Her and Mo stood at that fence and would get their fingers licked.

After the animal fun we headed over to the slides. They had a bunch of different sizes, and Izzy had never really been down a big slide before so we thought this would be a great time for her. Daddy started out on the smaller one which she did pretty good on. Then we ventured over to the medium one where we went down as a family, and she seemed to like it. So we were off to the big slide. You can tell by her face that she was not quite sure about that.

We then stopped over to the corn shooting range so the boys could have a friendly shoot out. Dax was the only one who hit a target winning a free pumpkin.

We then jumped on the cow train. Izzy LOVED it.

After that we decided to let the kiddos crawl through this tunnel that they had there. At first Izzy was not to sure about it, but after seeing daddy at the other side she was off.

All in all it was such a fun day. We didn't even do half the things they had there. We will have to hit it up next year and do the rest.

Cancun Trip

(August 20-27, 2011)

As all trips start it requires lots and lots of packing. I spent the entire week before the trip planning and preparing things we need to take. Mostly because of Izzy. I would spend time organizing and packing and the moment I would turn around to grab something else and Izzy would have pulled the last few packed items out. It was a fun game that she created. At one moment I left the room to grab the next item to add to the bag and as I returned I found Izzy on top of the bag talking to herself in the mirror. Love her!

I have to admit that I had some anxiety about traveling with a very busy 10 month old on a plane to a foreign country. So as Saturday arrived I was grateful for the added family to help. I have flown with Izzy plenty of times before but there was so much more to think about on this trip. As we boarded the first flight and we took off my nerves started to settle because she was a little trooper. She settled down ate and fell asleep. Just as she finally settled in the Captain came across the speakers and woke her up. Nate and I consulted about what to do, and this is what we came up with.

After arriving in Mexico, getting through customs, buckling into our rental car we took off south towards Playa del Carmen to one of the yummiest taco shops Super Carna. My family found this little joint years ago and have to go back every time we are in the area. There has been the same worker there since the first time, and my dad had to snap a picture of us.

After finally arriving at our villa we finally got settled in and headed to bed. After a blissful night sleep we woke up to the most beautiful view... The relaxing can begin!

The next morning we all went for a bike ride into the town. There is a place in there to watch the dolphins, seals, and manatees play. It was so much fun. We strapped Izzy into the backpack, and Nate road with her on his chest. She loved it. She would put her feet onto his legs and would go up and down.

We spent the beginning of the week playing in the sand, and swimming in the pool. Izzy was in heaven. I would take her out to play in the sand rinse her down and let her swim in the pool. It was perfect. Uncle Jake buried Izzy in the sand one day. It was the funniest thing. At first she was not sure what to think but soon began to enjoy it. She also did not like her knees to touch the sand when she crawled around so she did this crab like crawl. It was the cutest thing.

While Izzy played in the pool she started to get really confident on standing on her own. She even took a few steps on her own!

We took her down to the ocean to see what she thought... And she was not the biggest fan of the the waves. I don't know why because she loves the bath and running water. But she liked the water as long as we were holding her. She didn't spend much time in the ocean.

A few evenings we played soccer on the beach with the locals. They were really good. I even got in on the game. I came out with a massive bruise on my calf but it was a lot of fun.

On Wednesday the Buckley group headed off to Explore leaving Izzy behind with Aunt Natalie. We spent the day enjoying the under ground caves, the zip lines, and the ATV's. It was so much fun. My mom was a little nervous at first about the zip lines especially after watching an adult man chicken out. After coaxing her into going down the fist zip line she completely let loose. She started to twist and hang upside down. We had a lot of fun.

The next day we woke up to a wonderful surprise. Out on the beach some time throughout the night baby sea turtles hatched! It was so amazing! Sadly we didn't actually get to see them hatch but we did get to see a few that were struggling to make it to the ocean. They did not survive. So for the rest of the week we did nightly sea turtle watches to see if there were other nests hatching. Every night before bed we would walk down the beach hoping to find some baby sea turtles making there way to the ocean, and in the middle of the night after feeding Izzy I would take a stroll to do another check for the turtles. After a few days of no success we struck gold. Nate came and woke me up to find a giant sea turtle right out on our beach digging a hole to lay her eggs!! She started down by the beach chairs digging then moved up next to the wall. We all sat out and watched her for two hours dig and lay and dig and cover. It was a once and a life time experience.

This trip was a fun and relaxing time with our family. It was so nice to spend time with everyone. Here are more pictures to enjoy.

Over 10 Months

Everyone tells you that time flies by when you have kids but no one can prepare you for the truth of that statement... My little baby is over 10 months old now! She is right around the corner of turning ONE. She has been amazing her daddy and I every day with all the new things that she can do. She is my little explorer/mischief maker/curious bug. I believe that all those descriptions go hand in hand. Since her 8 month mark she has master the art of crawling along with climbing into or on anything she can. She is on the verge of walking. Part of me is not prepared for her making this next step toward toddler stage. My baby is growing up too fast. Here are the other things that she has been up to as of late:

* Has become a real talker. She is getting close to saying and understanding the important words like "mama", "dada"

* Likes to clap her hands and say "Yeaaaaa" in a low raspy voice

* Absolutely loves the water! Baths, showers, swimming, Diesels water dish, anything that has to do with water.

* Has become a better eater over the past few months. She still is not a fan of baby food, but she will eat almost anything off of Nate's and my plate.

* Understands when she is doing something that she is not supposed to, but she will give you that big blue eyed look saying "what I'm not doing anything"

* Loves to do Patty Cake

* Discovered Diesels food and water dish. She has not tried to eat his food yet but she loves to splash in his water.

* Started to mimic people with sounds or clicking their tongue.

* Enjoys opening any drawers and cupboards that she can and empty the contents out.

* Loves jewelry. I don't wear much out of fear that she will tear it out while I am not watching. She has fast hands.

* Enjoys watching other kids.

* Loves to wrestle, be tossed, and tickled by daddy.

* Get so excited when Nate comes home from work and get upset if he doesn't acknowledge her before anyone else.

* Is an escape artists. If she is not buckled in she can get out. No more bumbo for her...

* Loves wheels. She figured out that she can roll things with wheels around.

* Still has no teeth, and we constantly wonder when they are going to make their arrival. (Not a big deal but just a note to remember)

* Loves animals. Will chase Diesel around the house wanting his attention. The only time he will give it to her is when she has food.

* Like to feed Diesel from her high chair. If he doesn't take it all the way from her she will eat it her self.

* LOVES blueberries.

* Is drawn to electronics phones, computers, anything expensive that she should not have.

* Is curious about outlets. Drives me crazy. I have all ours covered but when we visit other I constantly have to be on the watch.

Izabella still has the sweetest personality. She is not much of a crier. She really only cries when she hurts herself. She mostly alerts us by grunting. She is such a happy baby. Nate and I are so lucky to have her as a part of our family. We are truly blessed. I still can't believe how fast time has gone. We love you so much Izzy!

Happy Dreams

Today as I was rocking Izzy to sleep for her afternoon nap she drifted off to sleep. I continued to rock her and closed my eyes for a minute. As I relaxed and enjoyed the moment I heard her giggle. Thinking that she was laughing at me because she woke up (she does this to me when she falls asleep then wakes up a few minutes later suddenly feeling energized). I slowly opened my eyes to peak at her only to find that she was still sleeping soundly. As I continued to rock her she again started to giggle over and over again. I can only imagine what she was dreaming about. I wish that I could get a glimpse into her little mind to see what she was dreaming about.

I love you to pieces Izzy! You make mommy very happy.

Chocolate

The other day I caught Izzy red handed eating something she was not supposed to have....

Yep chocolate! She was so proud of herself. I was concerned on where she had gotten it. I figured that Nate was sneaking her food behind my back. After confronting Nate with Izzy's dirty face and fingers, and watching him laugh and pose the same question on where did she get it we started to brain storm. Nate quickly remember that he had snuck Diesel a yummy chocolate covered pretzel. Diesel has a habit of taking a treat then dropping it on the carpet. Well this time there was a little munchkin there to pick it up and eat it. Well needless to say we now know that we have to make sure Diesel eats his treats before Izzy gets them.

Splash Pad Fun

Saturday we went down to our friends Dax and Marina's house to have a play date. There is a splash pad a few blocks down from their house in their neighborhood that we wanted to try out. I was not sure how Izzy was going to do since she can't walk but our little fish LOVED it. It took her a few minutes to get used to the water splashing her in the face, but once she was used to it she was off. It was so cute she was crawling on her tip toes to try and keep her knees off of the pavement (she does this at home on our tile). I had to keep chasing her around and bring her back. I was so worried about her knees getting scraped. She has a little road rash but it is mostly on her toes. It was so worth it to see how excited she was. Every time I would pick her up she would squirm until I would put her back down. It was a lot of fun.

And So It Begins...

She's off. Well in her own way. After two weeks of constant watching and wondering when the rocking back and forth on her knees was going to turn into crawling. It finally happened. She gets up and falls forward onto her belly, then gets up and does it again slowly making her way to the destination she desires. I know now that it won't be long before she figures those arms out and then I will be in big trouble. Here is a little video of her starter crawl.

Help!!

Ever since I ran out of breast milk it has been a struggle to get Izzy to eat, and it is so draining wondering if she is getting enough. It is a fight to get her to eat. The only time I can get her to eat is when she is drifting off to sleep. Which I feel is not getting her the nutrients she needs. I am emotionally drained worrying about her, and wonder what I can do.

When she doesn't eat well she become fussy, and very clingy making it hard for me to function and get other things done. I have tried letting he fuss then feed her but it doesn't do the trick.

Please if any of you have suggestions please let me know.

{April 27, 2011 was her six month mark}

Man how time flies by. I cannot believe that my little one is 6 months old.

Izzy Stats:

Weighs 13 lbs 5%

Length 26 inches 60%

Here are a few things Izabella has been up to:

*Has the Bluest eyes

*Is a complete toe head (I was hoping that her hair might go to a strawberry blonde color, but I think she is going to stay a blonde)

*Still loves to chew on her fingers

*Found that her toes are just as fun to chew on

*Still wants nothing to do with food (I have been trying to feed her food since her four month check up and she still wont eat a thing. I wonder if she will ever eat)

*Rolls mostly from her back to her belly and occasionally from her belly to her back

*LOVES, Loves, loves her jumper

*Loves to play with crinkly sounding things (chip bags, wipe container, etc...)

*Thinks that Diesel is the greatest (she will laugh so hard when he is playing)

*Loves to play with her Daddy (especially when he throws her in the air)

*Plays with mommies hair while she eats her bottle and loves to pull on it whenever she can grab it

*Sleeping about 6-8 hours a night consistently

*Is a perfect alarm clock for 7:30 am every morning

*LOVES to take showers (I hardly get to shower by myself any more)

*She has found her voice and loves to use it

*Still never cries she just likes to use her angry voice when she is hungry or tired

*Startles really easy at loud noises, and does not like really loud people

*Denies juice unless you will let her try and drink from your glass (even then it is not really for the juice she just likes to chew on the cup)

*Chews on anything she can get in her mouth

*Likes to be in the kitchen with me and play with the KitchenAid

*Likes her highchair for the fact that she can throw things over the edge and mommy will get them for her

*Can almost sit on her own (she is still wobbly)

*Loves to look at herself in the mirror

*Likes to take naps in mommy and daddy's bed

{We only lost a few flowers taking these photos}

She is such a good baby and such a blessing to have in our life's! I am so grateful to have been chosen to be her mother. I love you Izabella!

Funny Sleeper

I have found Izzy sleeping in some of the funniest positions over the last few months and have snapped some really cute photos. Oh what it would be like to fall asleep where ever you are. I miss my sleep.... But love the little one keeping me up.

This was her the morning of her blessing. So peaceful in mommies spot.

I found her like this in her swing... If you think that you are looking at the photo the wrong way you are not... Her neck is completely kinked to the side.

She fell asleep in front of the fire after her bath.

Man I love these two so much! I don't know what I would do without them.

Izabella's Baby Blessing

Yesterday was Izabella's blessing day and we had everything planned out to a T to make sure that it was perfect. Well Mother Nature decided to throw us a curve ball. We woke up that morning to this....

A ton of snow and snow covered roads roads which cause events like this...

Uncle Kirk stuck in our drive making a 180 turn in order to get out of the drive. After finally succeeding in making it out of the drive we all made it to church in time.

Nate did such a wonderful job on blessing Izabella. I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband who does all that he can to take care of our little family. It was such a wonderful experience! Nate gave Izabella such a special blessing.

After we all piled in ALL WHEEL drive cars to make the trek down to Doug and Shawna's for some Delicious food! (I forgot to get a picture of the food) I however took pictures of the cake and cupcakes I made.

I just want to tell my family and friends Thank You for supporting us on our Izzy's special day. Thank you to our parents who love and support us, and are the most wonderful grandparents to Izabella!

Izabella your father and I love you so much and are so happy to have you in our life's. You have been such a blessing. You are such a happy and adorable baby. You make being parents easy! We Love YOU!

3 1/2 Months Old

Man how time flies by. I can't not believe that you are close to your four month mark. You are changing daily and Daddy and I can't get enough of you. Here are a few things that you are up to:

*You have a smile that will melt any ones heart

*Love to watch what is going on around you (especially Daddy in his bright shirts)

*You like taking baths (although you hate to be lotioned)

*You have started smacking your lips together

*You love to talk especially in the morning after a little food

*You can sit up with a little help

*You don't like tummy time

*You love to be naked

*You are getting really close to laughing

*Reaching for things in front of you including your hands, mommies hair, toys, and your blankets

Izzy we love you so much and can't wait to see what you do next. Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter.

Izabella's Birth Story

It is about time that I caught my blog up, but it has been so hard to pull myself away from my sweet baby. So here it goes!

It all started Monday October 25, 2010 @ about 6 pm I started having constant pain throughout my whole belly. I figured that it was probably false labor since the contractions that I was getting were irregular. So I waited.... and waited.... could not sleep do the fact that every time I shifted it caused a contraction. So as soon as the sun was up Diesel and I were bundled up (due to the first snow) outside walking up and down the back drive way hoping that it would trigger my body to start something substantial so I knew for sure what was going on. After about an hour of speed walking I finally gave in and woke Nate up and asked him to take me to the Doctor. We ended up going straight to the hospital because Dr. Johnson was doing surgery. After being admitted they hooked me up to all of the monitors, and checked my progress. I was told that yep your in labor but you are still only dilated to a two. After contacting Dr. J they were instructed to let my labor progress naturally because he was going to be in surgery all day and didn't want to not be available for delivery. So all day Tuesday I was in slow labor, tired, and very hungry. They would not let me have anything to eat only ice chips and Popsicles. By 7 pm October 26, 2010 Dr. J stopped by and checked me still at a two (needless to say I was very disappointed) he decided to do a cervical induction to help things progress. After that was done he left and told me he would probably see me around 3 am. So labor progressed more aggressively I was having contractions every 2 to 4 minutes (Yuck) and I still could not get the epidural since I was still at a 2. By 7 am October 27, 2010 I was done I had been in labor for 36 hours with no food, or real pain medication and still only dilated to a 2 maybe 2 1/2. The nurse came in and told me that I could take a shower and that they were going to break my water and start me on pitocin. I at that point told her to get me the epidural before any of that went down. At 8:30 am Dr. J checks me breaks my water, and tells me that it will probably still be a while. Feeling down about how slow my progress is going I am finally able to starting relaxing having finally got some real pain relief. My sweet parents showed up to give me support, and Nate a little break (he quickly fell asleep on the couch and began snoring). As time passed my parents were massaging my feet and keeping me as comfortable as I could get. At 10:10 am the nurse came in to check my progress assuming that I still had a way to go I was not prepared for her to say "Oh wow your at a ten and she is on her way. We need to get Dr. Johnson here now. Get ready." I instantly yelled at Nate to wake up and call his parents. (I wish that I caught his reaction on tape) He was still half asleep, and trying to figure out if it was for real. Being reassure by the nurses running in and out setting up he quickly made the phone calls. By 10:30 am Dr. Johnson was all geared up and telling me to push on the next contraction. After two contractions our baby girl entered this world. It was such a special moment our lives changed instantly. We realized what instant love for our child felt like.

Where is Izabella?

So I was down in the basement which is Nate's man cave and he asked me to go grab him the vacuum. So being a good wife I passed him Izzy, and headed up stairs to grab it. When I came back I noticed that he wasn't holding her. Hoping desperately that he didn't set her down on the gross floor or on a table I started scanning around the room searching for her only to find her snuggled up in one of his traveling trunks on top of foam and paintball clothes. She didn't seem to mind at all.

Izabella Update

I cannot believe how fast time goes by... It seems just like yesterday that I found out that we were pregnant with her, and now it has already been over six weeks since I had Izzy. I love being a mom!

She has started to sleep 5 hours at night! Yippee! Nate and I have been enjoying her cute personality that is starting to show. She loves to look at you while you're talking to her. She has also started to smile, and let me tell you she can melt your heart with her smile. She is a little over 8 lbs, and growing like crazy. I feel very lucky because she is such a good baby. I have been a major blog slacker lately. Things have been really busy this summer with the house FINALLY getting done with the remodel, starting to move back into our house, getting ready for this little one to come, and doing everyday tasks! Here is the update on what has been happening. I have been working diligently on getting our house put together (pictures to come). It was is my goal to go through everything in our house and organize it the way I really want it since we are going to be here for a while now! Not to mention the nesting instinct is going full throttle, and I want everything ready before the baby comes.

I have been working at ATK and have really enjoyed it. They hired me on through a engineering company making my position a temp position. It has worked out perfectly, and I couldn't have been happier with the circumstance. I now have a good relationship with the people at ATK (especially the ones in my department), and will have future prospects if I desire to work after the baby is born. I am completely enjoying the month off before the baby comes to finish up all of these projects that I have going, and prepare for our little one to make her arrival.

Nate has been really busy with work, and his extra curricular activities of late. He has been in and out of town on paintball tournaments, and playing softball twice a week. (I have been jealous of his activities since being pregnant has prohibited me from doing some of these). On the work front he is making huge progress with some major development opportunities, and is gain great experience throughout the process. Also last fall/winter he made some joint investments with his dad by purchasing a couple of homes to remodel and sell, and as of August all three have sold with profits to the family business! His paint ball team has been taking major leaps into competitive paintball league's. They have a few different sponsors the main one being Tippman. They were the 19th team world wide to be sponsored by Tippman! I am proud of my Husband and all of his many accomplishments!

On the baby front our little one is continuing to grow, and move all of the time! Since I have stayed pretty small you can find her anytime you want, and she'll put on quite the show for those around. I am growing more and more excited to meet this little one. The reality set in yesterday as I was putting her bottles in the dishwasher that she is going to be here soon!

I still have a lot to update on my blog including both of my baby showers, our house being finished (one room left to do), and belly updates. Hopefully I can get them done before this little one makes her appearance.

An Albino Squirrel???

I have now! Nate came in the other day from getting Diesel, and said I think I just saw an albino squirrel. I quickly asked him is he was sure, and he told me he was pretty sure. Still not quite sure I believed him I let it go. A week later he told me that he saw it again and was for sure now that it was indeed an albino squirrel. I have never been around to witness this so I continued to have my doubts, but I have now been proved wrong, and will gladly give Nate the credit. I quickly ran into get my camera to document this knowing that others would doubt the truth of this matter. So for all of you non believers or simply curious people here is the proof.

Excitement!!

So yesterday was the first day we could cook in 5 weeks! It was one of the happiest moments. I had to snap a quick shot of the beginning of our kitchen. It is almost done with the remodel and then we get to completely settle back in!

My mom also asked me to post a belly photo since it has almost been a month since she has seen it so here are the belly updates......

I am 26 weeks along. The baby is measured to be at the most 7 lbs when she's born (which I was a little relieved to hear having a really big baby scares me...) We did the level one ultra sound where the spend about a half hour checking the baby for all sorts of things. It was really interesting to watch. All checked out perfectly 10 fingers, 10 toes, healthy heart, brain developing greatly, no sign of any troubles. (YEAH!)

Complete Chaos

After Nate graduated we sat down to make some decisions about our current and future house plans. Knowing that we had a little one on the way and that if we were going to stay where we are it had a lot of updating to be done. So after discussing our options and deciding that we love the area that we are in, and that this house has such a special place in Nate's heart due to the fact that there are so many precious memories here. It felt good to decided to start our family here.

For the past two weeks Nate and I a have been living in crazy conditions. I am excited for the end results, but I am getting very anxious for them. It all started and happened fast. I wanted to take before and after photo's I miss the before not realizing how fast they were moving. Here are some pictures of the start of demolition.

I figured that I can deal with the craziness as long as it continues to move fast. I am really excited for this be completed so I can finally settle down and get ready for the baby, and make this house our home. Every room in our house is under construction except one... the spare bathroom.

I didn't realize how easy it is to take the daily routines for granted. I miss having a kitchen.... I dislike the fact that I can't cook or do dishes or even sit at my kitchen table. I miss the dvr.... I go crazy not being able to watch a show without commercials. As much as I love my bed and truly believe it is the most comfortable thing in the entire world..... I get tired of it being the only place I have to sit down. Little things like that start popping up....

Hopefully they will be done by the end of this week. They originally wanted to be done by now but it always takes longer than planned.

Nate was a little distraught at first (he really wanted a boy) worrying about all of the time he's going to have to spend protecting our baby girl, but he is coming around to the thought that he's going to be her Hero! And not to stress about the future. She is going to love her daddy soo much I can already see it now. I can't wait to meet her!

She is completely healthy! She was rubbing her head and wiggling around. It was so amazing to see. Some of our family got to join us for this ultra sound and it was such a fun experience! Here are a few shots of our little girl!

Celebration!

To celebrate Nate Graduating I planned a trip for us to Mexico! It was soo much fun and a needed break from everything. We were accompanied by our friends Pat and Nichole our family, Bruce & Stacy; Doug & Shawna. The trip started out a little rough by being stuck at Mexican Customs for 3 1/2 hours! Getting to our villa and realizing the pictures were very deceiving, and then raining for the first two days.... But by Wednesday luckily the weather started to improve, and Shawna's smooth talking got us upgraded to Casa Agava where we stayed in December. We are so grateful for the upgrade THANK YOU Doug, Shawna, Bruce, & Stacy!

After finally getting settled in our new location we started to relax and enjoy our trip. We did a lot of relaxing, and laying out in the sun everyone at some point or another got sunburned (okay so maybe a little too much sun). We then decided to try our luck at deep sea fishing because every boat that came into the dock had quite the catch. It ended up being a nice boat ride.... No such luck for us not a single fish.

Our next adventure was to XPLOR! It was so much fun they had ton's of activities that adults enjoy. We started out with a ZipLine tour over the jungle with three water landings. It was SO much fun. Next we went for a ride through the jungle on these little ATV's. We were able to drive down into these caves, and some had water in them. After that we took a refreshing swim in the under ground cenote. It was a blast! If you are ever down in the Cancun area I would highly suggest making time for this excursion.

We were sad to come home, but it was such a nice trip relaxing. We of course made a new friend with the neighbors dog... She was the most unique and pretty thing we'd seen. She is an albino doberman pincher. She was the sweetest thing just wanted to be petted and be close to you.

The Going On's

Things here have been really busy, and time has gotten away from me. I am finally out of my first trimester and starting to feel better. YEA!! For a while there I thought I wasn't going to make it.... I give thanks to modern medicine! I have started to show, but just a little bit. I am anxiously waiting to feel this little one, and to find out what we are having. We will be finding out the sex of the baby on May 26th so if you'd like to cast a vote on what your guess is as to what were are having please feel free. To vote just put a post it in the comments. (I was having dificulties with the Poll)

Nate and I are going to start remodeling/updating our house before the baby comes which means I have started a MAJOR task list with getting ready for the make-over, and de-junking the house! I think I'm in over my head.... I am trying to focus on one project a night. It is going to be a busy, but good summer!

Our New Addition

Yep, it's true after praying hard and trying for about a year and a half our prayers have been answered! We are expecting our newest addition to arrive around November 5, 2010. In part of the Easter Spirit here is our little bean (at the time he was probably that exact size of those jelly beans : )

It has been are really growing experience for both Nate and I to practice a lot of faith. Nate has been such a good support system to me. Always telling me that everything is going to work out. Keeping me positive through all of the ups and the downs. I Love that man!

I have loved watching my cute husband fail to keep this a secret. Since the day we got the blood work back with the definite news that we are pregnant he hasn't been able to keep it quite. He has already posted the news on his Facebook page. I was wondering why I was receiving a lot of congratulations from his friends when they informed where they heard. I love him to death, and am SO excited to experience this journey with him!

I have been doing good..... Until I hit my 6th week then all things changed. I have been dealing with morning sickness! It seems like the only thing that my body will intake is Pizza Hut (Mostly bread sticks), soups, and ice cream. Things that definitely bother me is the smell of seafood, heavy meats, and fruits early in the morning! Luckily I have my good days, and I live it up on those days!

A Beautiful Cake!

This last weekend has been very busy! I spent the entire day Thursday making a wedding cake for my sweet Aunt Rita! I was so excited, but very nervous! I believe that it turned out beautiful! It was a vanilla cake with raspberry filling, and the top tier was chocolate with raspberry filling. I spent day's brainstorming on what to do to make a simple but beautiful cake for the Valentines wedding and here is how it turned out...........

Ending 2009 with a Bang!

Things here have been really crazy the past two months. It all started with me getting a job at Texas Roadhouse, and working nights. It is nice to have the money coming in, but it is no fun to leave my husband at night. I am hoping to find a different job here soon. I worked it out to make it out of town with the Durbano's for Thanksgiving! It was so nice down in St. George to relax and enjoy family. (I was lame and only got a couple pictures in the pool)

The next few weeks flew by preparing for Christmas and a SURPRISE vacation Doug and Shawna gave the family for Christmas. They wouldn't tell us where we were going so trying to figure it out was half the fun. They had to tell us to pack for warm weather and Nate and I hoped we were going to the beach. So on December 12 @ 5 AM we all hopped into the Motor home to go to the airport and were given our itinerary to........

CANCUN! (We actually stay in a town south called Puerto Adventuras)

It was the most amazing trip and much needed after this year! Nate and I basically had a second Honeymoon! We spent the week lounging out by the pool, or on the beach, I read 5 books while there, and Nate play games with his brothers. We had kayak wars out in the ocean on the waves. We snorkeled in a BEAUTIFUL Cenote. Adopted a few vacation pets. Got massages on the patio by the beach, and enjoyed the family time playing games. Thanks again Doug and Shawna!

This is a very yummy place to eat called Super Carne! The Buckley's discovered it a few years ago and I had to share it with the Durbano's, and they Loved it!

Above is Doug losing to our card game. Below is a new game that was created by us in the pool. It was a type of skipping flip flop hockey. It was a lot of fun, and we all came out with red marks across our bodies!

While we were there we found a lot of different animals a creatures. Here are a few pictures of them.

Returning home we had three days to get unpacked and repacked for our trip to Idaho for Christmas with my family! It was so much fun to spend time with the family, and watch Ellie get so excited about Santa and interact with us especially Uncle Nate. He became her best friend while there. My sister had the idea of doing homemade Christmas gifts (there was a lot of grumbling about it) but it turned out really good. I received some marshmallow guns, and we enjoyed playing with them. It was so funny to watch Ellie run around everywhere trying to find the marshmallows to eat them! Nate received from my dad custom built watch and sunglasses case (it was so nice, but not quite big enough to fit all of his fetish). It all went by way too fast.

How can you not love this little girl! She was trying to eat the lion.

This year for Halloween we spent time with our friends at Dax and Marina's house! It was so much fun. It started out with a scavenger hunt, and then we devoured lots of yummy treats! We had some kids there that definitely livened up the group. Nate spent most of the night chasing Linc around the house. It was so cute! I failed at taking pictures of the whole group so I only have a few.

Overdue Update

The past few week have been crazy busy with family in town, getting sick, Nate's paintball tournament, lots of time spent in the car, & TWO new cakes.

It all started with my sister and my two adorable nieces coming into town! They have been out of there house now for over two months due to water damage, and needed a break from the hotel, and we were more than excited that they decided to come into town. I headed up the weekend that they came into town and played lots of games with Ellie I love that she is so smart and active with me! She has such a creative mind. I also became Lila's favorite to look at, but not to come to. She is so cute!

On the downside to that trip the girls got sick.... And it of course was contagious so needless to say we all came down with it all except my Dad. I need his immune system.

After coming home I unpacked and repacked for Nate's Paintball tournament in Mesquite. It was the finale event of the season and it was a HUGE event. Randy Couture was putting on this event for the GI Foundation Charity that he started. It was an eventful weekend. It started with paintball during the day then they had some MMA fights Saturday night.

Nate went down earlier that week to help set up this event, and I have to say he did an amazing job. Him and Pat basically built everything out on the field, and he was so excited to show me his handy work!

At the fights we got to sit on the 3rd row, and it was a lot of fun to be that close. There were a few Celebs there. Dana White, Randy Couture, and Frank Mir.

When I got back from that weekend I tried to get us both unpacked and laundry done in the middle of it all I got a phone call from my sister asking me to come back up to Idaho.... So I got repacked and headed back up to Idaho to help with the girls and give them a little break. It was fun to spend time with them. Here are a few pictures from Idaho.

While I was in Idaho I made a cake for my sweet friend Amber's Baby shower with help and ideas from my sister here it is.... (It is a Cherry Chip cake with Cheese Cake and Strawberry in the middle)

I also have my final Course two cake that I had to finish. I made this cake for Nate. He wanted a White cake with strawberry filling.

The glass plate that it is on was given to me by my parents, and it belonged to my Great Grandma Buckley and I love it so much it is so beautiful and has a lot of character! Thanks mom and dad!

Cakes & Snow!

This past weekend Nate and I got to head up to Idaho and enjoy my families company! It was so nice to go up and just relax and listen to conference. I can't think of anything better than that. Nate got to sleep in and it was so nice to see him lay back and relax. No phone calls or Diesel to interrupt him! Sunday morning I woke up to this.......

Can you believe this crazy weather. I had to ask my mom if I had slept until December. I was so beautiful though. After morning session I really felt like making a Snowman so my mom and I did! (Diesel tried to help by stealing the Snowman's arm and tasting the snow : ) Here is the finished product!

So my sister and I are taking some cake decorating class and due to the miles the separate us we have to spend a lot of time on the phone talking through our problems and ideas for cakes. It has been so much fun to hear the different things each instructor teaches and put the best ideas to work!

Two Years Down & Forever To Go!

Two years ago today I had the privilege of being sealed to my Best Friend for All Eternity. As I stop to ponder our life together I cannot help but Thank our Heavenly Father for this Wonderful Man I call Husband. This man who holds my heart is a hard worker, a teasing playmate, a thoughtful companion, a loyal friend, a passionate soul, & a protector. Thank you for everything you do; for standing next to me through thick and thin, for picking me up when I fall, for making me laugh when I cry, and for holding me close when times are tough. I had no idea that I could love someone as much as I love you!

Lake Powell Fun

Those of you who have had the chance at going to Lake Powell you know very well that it is a great place to relax, eat lots of yummy food, spend quality time with those who accompanied you, and soak up plenty of Sun! Those of you who haven't had a chance to experience Powell I would put it on my Bucket List!

We had the privilege of being able to spend lots of time with family! The whole Durbano clan came along with a couple of visitors! Nate and I invited my Parents to come with us (since they had never been to Powell). I had so much fun sharing this place with them. I believe that they did as well! Thanks Mom and Dad for coming!

The fun adventures of the the week consisted of exploring canyons, hiking to Sand Mountain, finding Indian Ruins, climbing up to the Crack and Hiking through it, mega tub wars, Surfing, and getting even with inconsiderate neighbors.

{Since we took TONS of pictures I am going to try keep them to a minimal.}

There are so many beautiful things to see here. The mind boggles at the thought of how this magnificent place was created! Honestly I could have taken so many more pictures, but I had some self control. Here are a few of my favorite places...

While out exploring we would occasionally see some Indian ruins. It is hard to think that they lived here Pre Lake... It must have been extremely HOT! You'll have to enlarge the picture to see them better.

Sand Mountain is this spot at the Lake that has a huge Mountain of sand that people used to boggie board down, but due to the low water level I would not suggest doing it. It was a beautiful hike to get there with lots of fun wonders like a stream with little frogs, water seeping through the rocks, and lots of vegetation.

A Fantastic Hidden secret a Lake Powell would be... The Crack! It is like the cliff wall completely split off a section of the rock face and slid forward. It is completely out in the open in the main channel, but so well hidden that you'd pass right by it if you didn't know that it was there. This time when we went the Sun was in a perfect position to actually shine down through it. It was breath taking. {These picture don't quite do it justice}

It should be a law that you need shoulder pads and helmets in order to participate in Mega Tube wars. The point of Tube wars is to be the last one on the tubes. So this game consists of a lot of life jacket choking due to someone trying to throw you off the tube, jumping from tube to tube to get the next person off, tipping tubes, and laughing really hard at each other. We had a total of three tubes behind the boat and at one point 9 people playing! Talk about crazy!

Here is a friendly reminder to all of you who are Lake Powell goers, and Great advice for those of you who are planning to take a trip there at some point. We had one of the most beautiful spots that you can find, it was secluded and quiet. After being there for only one day we were intruded on by people who were inconsiderate. This cove that we found was not very big, and there really wasn't room for anyone else to come park there.... So we thought! These people park literally 100 ft from the back of our boat! GRRR!!! Nate politely went over there and asked them to reconsider due to this small space, and the company that was with them would be very intrusive on our Quiet spot. He even offered for us to help them find a new spot and help them move. They declined the offer, and was said that we should "Just Get Over It"! This is a huge lake with thousands of places to park, and they choose to park right next to us and it gets better they had 15 kids with them! 15! So we got to hear lots of crying! It is horrible educate to do that! {Here is a picture of the spot}

The first morning there with them and they get up at the crack of dawn and become incredibly loud! So in attempts to prove our point of dislike for the things that they are doing we had a late night dance party. It consisted of a lot of yelling, splashing, and making sure that we were really annoying!

One of the finale events was cliff jumping. There is a rock formation out in the middle of the lake. So all of the boys climbed up and did a grand finale of ninja moves off of the rock! {I recommend expanding the photo to catch all of the facial expressions!}

All in all the trip was fantastic! I was fun to spend time playing fun games, and doing not so smart things {like duct taping a checker board on James back}.

Nate's 10 Year Reunion!

Yea for High School Reunions! It was so fun to go with Nate and see his friends from High School. Most of them he has kept in touch with, but a few of them live out of state so it was fun to catch up with them.

Those of you who have not had the blessed opportunity of spending time with my sweet husband would not know that he is a major tease, and in High School he hit his peak of teasing people. So it was fun to sit around and watch the boy at work trying to remember who most of the people were, and why he should remember them... Whether it be because him or one of his friends made out with her, or they were a regular on the teasing list, or Brig may or may not have fought them.... Oh the trip down memory lane was a blast. I am glad that I got to share that with him.

Girls Day at Lagoon!

I got a call from a dear friend of mine informing me of a Girls Day at Lagoon, and could not have been more excited! We had so much fun running around riding rides and laughing at how we must be getting older due to the fact that we all were starting to get a little dizzy after the rides! How funny how time changes things. After a morning of non stop going we decided that we should go to Lagoona Beach! We literally went around in the lazy river a ton of times! Just floating, and talking, and trying to stay away from splashing children.

Nate got his first BBQ Grill this last weekend so we decided to break it in by inviting up the family for some All American Burgers and Hot Dogs! I decided that this was a definite thing to document. A man's first Grill is an exciting thing!

4th of July Fun!

This year for the 4th of July Nate and I went to Idaho to spend time with my complete family! The festivities kicked of Friday night with Kit flying with a twist. My dad came up with the idea of using fishing poles to fly the kite with more control and an easy way get the kite to return back to earth. Here are some fun pictures of the new style.

Saturday morning (the 4th) began with some attempts at family pictures. My Dad really wanted to take them out on the river in the boat. After a few attempts Diesel decided that he was feeling left out and wanted to join. The pictures were difficult to do be cause of the flow of the river and the sun, but some turned out pretty good.

After the pictures and breakfast we headed into the famous Rupert Parade! We were ready with the camera for any crazy floats since last year we missed some amazing photo's! So we were not going to make the same mistake. Here are some of the fun pictures of this year!

After the Parade we headed back to the house for BBQ and family. After eating Nate, Steve, and I decided that we were going on a rescue mission for my camera that ten day's earlier I had lost in the river (see Memorial Day Post). Here is the preparation picture to hoping into the river.

After hopping into the river we figured out that you couldn't see past your hand. My AMAZING husband decided that he would go to where we thought it would be lying and pull himself down by the reeds to the bottom so he could see better, and behold..... He FOUND my camera he turned it on and took a picture!

(As a side note I would like to put in a plug for our camera the Olympus Waterproof Camera! The camera works great even after sitting at the bottom of the Snake River for ten days, and after a quick clean it looks like normal.)

You always have to have your own fireworks. Here are pictures of the Boy's attempts at Launching them off of the dock. They became very creative.

These were a few war marks left behind (Sorry Dad).

Later that night some of the neighbors who are certified to do the BIG fireworks had put together a really big production. So we went out in my dad's boat and anchored it where we had front row seats to the show! It was really fun. To add to the fun my mom had gotten some 3D Firework glasses that made one firework seem like 10. It was a different experience. Nate and I put the glasses over the camera and took some pictures of them.

The events of the weekend continued to the 25th of July the newest member to the Buckley extended clan and the Moore family was being blessed. Britney and Steve decided to Bless Lila in Idaho. It was so nice to be able to be there and be apart of Lila's Special Day! Here are a couple pictures of the cute family.

One of the best things about being in Idaho is the Sunsets! Diesel and I enjoyed them very much!

Birthday Celebration!

I have to say that birthday's are the best excuse to get together with friends, and have fun in the pool with some good food! Taylor had a fun Birthday Bash at his parents house and it was such a blast to see everyone and celebrate! We had such a good time socializing, and catching up with everyone. The boys were being creative with ways to come down the slide {See Exhibit A} They were also playing an interest game of Water Basket Ball. It seemed that every few minutes they were coming up with new rules that would benefit them. It was so fun to watch. {See Exhibit B's} The girls mostly sat on the side lines and talk; occasionally we would laugh and make fun of the boys{See the Girls Exhibit C}. Jeff claims that he can't swim because he's asian so him and Troy play real basket ball on the side {See Exhibit D} All in all it was so much fun to hang with everyone and celebrate! Birthday, Fishing, Nieces & More!

Happy Happy Birthday to my AMAZING Husband! Nate had his 28th Birthday Yesterday and we are continuing to celebrate for the rest of the week! I love this man with all of my Heart and I can't imagine life without him. He is my Best Friend! I love you Honey and am excited to continue to celebrate YOU!

On Monday we got to spend time with the family celebrating Nate and Natalie's Birthday. Natalie's requests for the evening was Fresh Corn on the Cob, and Cherry Chip Cupcakes! Nate's requests were a T-Bone Steak and a Slip-n Slide (Thinking he was funny and they would never do it). ALL Requests were fulfilled! Because they all were birthday requests both Nate and Nat had to enjoy ALL requests.

Memorial Weekend Nate and I got to spend some time with my family! I was so excited to be able to go up and relax. While we were there my Uncle Kirk and Dad took Nate and I fishing! I have been begging to go fishing forever! Nate was not sure on how he felt about it, but he ended up catching the MOST fish that day! Thanks Uncle Kirk for taking us fishing! Thanks for helping us Dad! We love you all!

I got to go down and spend time with my Brit, Steve, and my Super cute Nieces!!! I had so much fun loving on Ellie and Lila! We played lots of games, watched some movies, and fort building! Thanks for letting me come play with you all!

Disclosure {It has been a fun filled week and I have lots to blog about}

This past week has gone by so fast with lots of stuff going on! But first and foremost Happy EASTER from the Durbano's!

Last night we got to spend time with the Durbano's doing traditional Easter activities with a twist! We had an amazing dinner followed by an Easter basket hunt. After searching for our baskets we made sugar cookies! It was so much fun to see what everyone came up with. Here is my bunny pre-frosting.

After dark we had a night hunt for some Easter Eggs! It was so much fun! Thanks Doug and Shawna for putting together so much family fun! We loved all of it.

I love this time of year because we get to focus so much on Jesus and all that He has done for us! Nate and I got the opportunity to go to the Twin Falls Temple for the first time and share with Angela and Tylor in their special day. Angela and Tylor Gillett were sealed together for time and all eternity to each other along with their son Jackson! It was so beautiful and special. It was the perfect time to go and see all that the gospel has to offer! It was so touching to see how happy Angela and Tylor make each other, and how happy all of the kids are! Congratulations!

On the car ride home I decided to get some photo's of Diesel when he sticks his head out the window. He loves to ride in the car and he loves even more to stick his head out the window. So on the way home Nate and I decided to see what he would do at 80 mph and here is what happened....

Spring Break!

Time fly's by when you are having fun! This year for Spring Break we headed down to Sunny St. George! It was so nice to get away and relax. The first few days there we spent sleeping in, and enjoying the family. It was so nice to catch up on sleep! Mmmm sleep.....

I the middle of the week we went into Vegas to see a couple of shows and shop! As a part of my Anniversary, Valentines, Birthday for the past year I finally got my present!

"O" Show Tickets! It was so AMAZING! I would highly recommended it! I would try to describe it but it is indescribable!

We also got to see the David Copper Field show. It was a good show to see, but unfortunately he is no longer into his shows that you would hope for. Even though the magic tricks were cool his attitude "to do it and get done" was a little disappointing. If you are interested in seeing some cool tricks it is worth seeing, but if you are looking for a show you might be disappointed.

Back into St. George we relaxed by the pool and soaked up the sun. On Saturday we decided to go to Zion's National Park an do some hiking! It was really pretty, but a little cold.

Along the way on our beautiful hike Doug pointed out a particular red rock that he liked and thought would look good back at the house in the waterfall/pond that we were fixing that morning. Being the good daughter-in-law that I am I picked up the rock and hauled it up the entire trail and back down. This rock got to see everything! I mean everything because it was at the very beginning of the hike that the rock was spotted.

So back at the house we decided that the rock needed to be signed and put in it's rightful place. Here are a few pictures of the rocks beginning and landing spot at our home.

The week went by way to fast! Love you all I hope that you all have a good Spring Break!

Fun Filled Weekends!

I have been trying desperately to find time to do this blog because I have so many fun pictures that I am getting behind in. It all started February 13th the day before Lovers day. Nate and I chose to celebrate Valentines that day by enjoying each others company and getting some yummy dinner. Nate was full of surprises, and I loved every minute of it!

First he bought me these beautiful flowers! (Hand picked I might add)

Second with a fun hat and Jacket. Third with a Romantic night including candles, rose peddles, and a fire set up in our bedroom! (You all know what happened next : )

It was so nice to have a night to spend with each other and relax. I love Nate so much! He is so much more than my Knight in Shinning Armor, He's my Best Friend, my Second Half. Someone I can't live with out! I love you Honey!

Next adventure was an outdoor excursion up into the mountains to play in the snow! All of the family got together and went tubing behind the snowmobile. It was a blast. Captain Doug was there to make sure that everyone was covered in snow before the tubing adventure ended. It was so much fun. You can imagine how much snow we had! We even got Captain Doug to take a ride around!

We also took the dog's up to run and play in the snow. They had a blast they chased the tubers almost every time. By the time we got them home they were exhausted.

Then the boys built a jump so those who brought their snowboards or ski's could have even more fun.

I loved every minute of our play time. I even jumped myself and manage not to get injured!

Nate did a great job too being that he is a skier.

Much Needed Update!

Greetings everyone. Things here have been pretty slow and uneventful, but none the less we have done a few things worth mentioning. First off lets talk about all of the crazy snow that we have been getting. It has been snowing like crazy this week. Starting on Monday Mother Nature decided to drop about a foot and a half! Then today she decided to drop another six or eight inches! Lets just say that I have been day dreaming and wishing I could be somewhere tropical where the Sun doesn't hide!

So last weekend we got to go out with some friends to dinner, and bowling. It was a blast! It has been a long time since I have bowled and believe it or not Nate and I kick some booty!

We all let Ella bowl for us and she was so excited! It was so cute to watch her try to help carry the ball and the push it down the lane. Here are a few photos of her and Nate.

We also headed out to Smith & Edwards to get some paintball supplies, and boy was I surprised. For those of you who have not ventured out there before I would highly recommend it. It is one of the most random stores ever created. I had everything from kitchen supplies to army supplies, Children's toys to what appears to be old missals (as you can witness for yourself below)

Brandy and I also found an array of hats that you couldn't help be try on and get a good giggle out of.

A Great Ending to 2008!

Nate and I got to spend the end of the year celebrating Christmas with his family, and bringing in the New Year with our friends. I'll try to keep this post as simple as I can, but I can't make any promises.

The festivities all started on December 24th at the Durbano residence. We had a very yummy dinner that included one of every ones favorite meals... Lasagna! It was so fun to sit around eat and laugh. We then entered into a competitive round of Spoons! We decided to set the stakes higher then just the pride of beating everyone, but the ultimate winner would be exempt from any dish duty on Christmas Day. Needless to say everyone had their eyes set on the prize. After a few scratches, broken nails, and brutal battles over spoons the winner was announced... Nate! He is quite the spoon master.

After a night of fun we all retired to our own beds to await Santa's arrival. On Christmas morning Nate and I (mostly I) woke early to prepare the Christmas Hams. We decided to try two different styles of ham. One was a sugar glaze and the other was a pineapple glaze. Both equally yummy! (Note to all of you cooks out there. If you decided to try the Pineapple one use the non colored tooth picks. That way the color wont bleed.)

We then enjoyed some exchanging of gifts that ended with a crazy treasure hunt. My mother-in-law put together a run up and down stairs, trap family members outside, and do anything you can to be the first one done treasure hunt. It was a blast!

Soon after all of our tummies were growling and we knew it was time for the carving of the ham! I would have to say the it was pretty close to perfect. The only thing that could have made the day even better would have been having my family (the Buckley's) there. They got to spend Christmas at my Britney's house in Arizona. We missed them.

It's is amazing how things change when you get married and get older. There is no more urge to spend New Year's Eve in some crazy place like Vegas. The only thing that you care about is being with friends and the one you love. We spent our night playing Mario Kart tournaments and enjoying everyone's company. All of us had so much fun!

Nate and I are very excited to see what 2009 has in store for us. 2008 was a long but fast year. I am sure that you all understand. The economy made the end of the year hard on a lot of people. I would just like to say how grateful I am to have a home, job, and to be staying ahead of the economy.

I love my family (both of them) friends, and Husband so much and can't wait to continue the memories. Goodbye 2008 and Hello to 2009!

Temple Square

Last night we got to go to Temple Square with friends and enjoy the beautiful lights. I would highly recommend this activity! It was so Beautiful. They have spread the lights throughout all of the Church buildings there. They had lots of different nativities set up from different cultures. It was so amazing to see.

In the middle of the square where the reflection pond was they had a large nativity that encircled the pond with Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the middle of the reflection pond! I was soo pretty!

Thanksgiving

Oh how I love the Holidays! We got to spend Thanksgiving with my whole family in Idaho. It was Great to have everyone there. Nate and I joined the family Wednesday, and with us we brought Jumbo Crab Legs and Steak, YUMMY! (For any of you who are interested in a Fantastic recipe for cooking Crab Please let me know I will pass it along!)

We then prepared ourselves for the The next day festivities! Food, Food and more Food! This is one day of the year that I can consume massive amounts of incredible food. After pies and naps we all got to hang out and enjoy everyones company, and open some Christmas presents!

We decided to play a trick on my mom by replacing the purse that we got her with golf balls. And this picture portrays here confusion of know that the box was for a purse but why was there golf balls in its place. Nate then continued to tell here that these golf balls were going to improve her golf game by extreme measures.

And here is her with her Real present! Purses are her favorite collecting items.

Ellie got a couple of DVD's from us, but not just any DVD's Scooby Doo Movies! She has a new obsession with Scooby Doo so I decided to supply here with as much Scooby as I could. She also enjoyed helping everyone open there presents as well.

The Friday following Thanksgiving Rupert has a tradition that Santa comes into the Town Square and turns on all of the Christmas lights followed by fireworks! We had a ton of fun taking Ellie there to see Santa. She loved it.

We then went home and enjoyed a very competitive round of Spoons! Nate and Steve had the massive advantage know exactly how to play. My dad figured that when he accomplished his match he would capture his spoon along with scattering everyone else. It was a blast! The weekend flew by. I love being home with my family and spending time with them I can't get enough of it. I love you guys and miss you Brit and Steve!

Fall Fun!

So Nate and I have been spend a lot of time with friends and family this fall and it has been lots of fun. To kick it off we all celebrated Dougs birthday and the Timbermine Restaurant! It was a blast to spend time with the Durb's. We over ate and laughed until tears were coming up! I love them so much!

Later in October we took a trip with our friends to Las Vegas! It was so much fun! We played a few games, ate a lot of food, and listened to lots of good music! Nate and I spent an extra day there to have a little us time. It was so nice!

We went and walked through the Belagio and went into there amazing gardens! I would strongly encourage anyone heading down that way to stop. It is always amazing.

This Halloween was filled with friends, food, and fun! The celebration started with a girls night at Witchapalloza! It was a play type production where these people sang and interacted with the audiance. It was very interesting, but with all of the girls there we made it worth while!

Then we celebrated Halloween at Pat and Nicoles house with all of our friends! Well only the married ones. No one single wanted to attend... Hard one to figure out. We did a fun Pot Luck dinner with lots of goodies! It was fun to relax and enjoy everyones company.

Halloween!

I like Halloween. Probably not as much as Nate, but I really enjoy the theatrics of this holiday. Just this weekend we went with a bunch of friends to dinner and a haunted house (Nightmare on 13th) before Clint heads out on his mission. In all honesty I get so scared when we do stuff like that because I am a big scared y cat and Nate loves to give me an even harder time. But by the end of things I can sit back and laugh at myself.

So throughout the Haunted house we were trying to take pictures so half of them didn't turn, and we kept getting in trouble by the security people.

WARNING!! Long Update

Well time has been flying by here for us. I have been meaning to update my blog, but have continued to run out of time. Well enough with excuses here is what has been going on with us over the last month and a half...

We went on a Durbano family vacation to Lake Powell! For those of you who have not been there let me tell you that it is a little slice of Heaven! We had perfect weather and even better company. Unfortunately I didn't take a camera so I have been waiting for others to send me pictures. I'll post them as soon as I get them. It was a fabulous trip!

I have had two of my best friends have babies that are completely adorable! First was Nicole & Pat Burns. They had a healthy baby boy that they named Carter. He is a cutie. He has an adorable older brother Lincoln that keeps Nicole on her toes! I love to hang out with them it a lot of fun!

My best friend Jessi had her first baby boy the end of September. It was quite an event. Crew was a tough little boy to get to leave the safety of his mother! He sure is cute. He came into the world a whopping 9 lbs. 1 oz. Nate and I got to meet up with them when they came to Utah to take Crews baby pictures. We love Jessi and Grant and miss them so much!

Nate bought me my first EVER digital camera so I have been taking lots of pictures with it in hopes of being able to blog a little more often. So if the rest seems boring that's too bad!

Nate and I have been preparing for the winter. Here are a few pictures of the latest and greatest. We went into our forest of a back yard and cut down some dead trees to serve as firewood.

Our dogs are growing like crazy. It has been a lot of fun playing with them. They have some of the best personalities!

Roxy has become our little escape artist! She's dug holes climbed on top of the kennel all to get out.

And after a long day of play they crash on the couch with us.

This is the first time that they have ever been in snow! And the Love it. Every time that we brought them back in they would wine to get out. Oh by the way... We got 4 inches of snow!! Crazy.

Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 1 year Anniversary! Man how that time flies by... Or as Nate put it "It feels like we have been married a lot longer!" (I think I'll take that as a compliment). The past year has been filled with Trips, Family, and Friends. What more can you ask for?

I am so Lucky to have such an amazing husband who Loves me and takes such good care of me! Nate I love you with all of my Heart and I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with you! I cherish every moment that we are together. I am truly the Luckiest girl to have someone that spoils me everyday with his sweet thoughts or his loving teasing, just to let me know he cares. Thanks Babe for all that you do!

Weekend in Idaho!

This last weekend we took the Durbano's up to my parents house in Idaho. It was such a fun and relaxing weekend. I forgot to take to camera so I didn't get any pictures... I am sad about that because it was such a beautiful weekend. Perfect weather!

We arrived Friday evening to dinner and a wonderful sunset on the river. It took me back to the good ole' days of waking up and going to bed in one of the most relaxing places possible not to mention that it's home and there is no where like home. I miss it sometimes, but I am really enjoying my new home!

Saturday we had a yummy breakfast on the deck caught up the Durbano's on my history in Idaho. After we decided to take a tour around the big metropolis of Rupert : ) We started at the Minidoka Damn and Ended at the Dairy farm! It was really fun! The Durbano's had really never been to a large dairy farm that operates with so much technology. It really is interesting. I would highly recommend it to someone.

Rhett and Natalie then joined us at the house for a little boating! I am truly spoiled, there is nothing to compair skiing on the river too. It is amazing! The water is glass there is no one to boat around it is pure bliss. We had a good time watching everyone wake board or surf. My dad even went wake boarding. Man do I wish I had my camera it was one for the record books. He even attempted a large jump (he let go of the rope though) but still got some air! Nice job dad.

All and all it was so fun to be surrounded by family! There is nothing better than that. We love you Guys !
